re: fire and redemption......

hello friends, fans, foe and lovers,

how's it going? i'm ottawa, it's hot, humid and intense. i like it here, it's a nice city, and i've found places to do art, and people are quite friendly.

things are going well.

re: spiracy theories.....

more, sacred geometry, conspiracy theory riddled art.

thanks for stopping by,

the day i flew out here to ottawa, i had a horrible dream, i was driving my truck downtown kamloops when all of a sudden there was this crazy sound, like static electricity getting louder and louder, buzzing and crackling filling the sky, and then it stopped and the city went dark, and all the cars died, everything.

i got out out and saw the city was dark, it was twilight, and ran to get my kids, because i knew shit was going to hit the fan. that same day, the earth was being bombarded by solar rays, a huge cosmic storm. coincidence?

thanks for coming by,

cb

re: trials and tribulations.....

but i've never been to the capitol city, so it's good to be here.

i'll post some photos later,

re: kanata day.

hello friends, fans, foe and lovers,

a final image for your Kanata day celebrations.

this one is called "the only good NDN is a Dead NDN."

a phrase i heard more than once in my life, granted, not since the 1990's. but still, i heard it more often in my life than i'd like to have heard it.

can you imagine hearing that as a child by your mother's blue collar, working class, spousal beating, alcoholic boyfriends?

re: kanata day art

Hello friends, fans, foe and lovers,

re: oh kanata.....

hello friends, foe and lovers,

more artwork for your canada day consideration.

the above image was taken at the Kamloops Indian Residential School and is the front gate around the building. it features a teepee, and i added the rest.

re: kanata day

hello friends, fans, foe and lovers,

it's Kanata day, a day that first nations, metis and inuit both loathe and maybe celebrate across canada.

we are a people that have many unresolved issues, actions and history with our government and citizens. we have a hidden history, one most people across the vast country called canada do not know even exists. i always have a challenging time with this celebration, because internally i'm wrestling and struggling with it, because both my parents went through the meat-grinder of the Residential School system and are complete messes as a result. i have no relationship with them, and it saddens me, and my kids are at an age where they are starting to ask about them. what do i tell them? the truth? no, they're too young, and i want them to have some sort of childhood. so, i soldier on, and tell them bits that i can and wait until i can figure out the rest.

in the meantime, i'm posting four or five pieces today, older and newer and i hope you contemplate them each, and try to understand what i'm saying through visual metaphor.

all the bets,

cb
